first_imgTangier – King Mohammed VI launched this Monday, in the Ziaten neighborhood in Tangier, works of a sports city matching international standards, another step in the Tangier-metropolis program, according to MAP.The Moroccan monarch launched the construction of a tennis compound, an Olympic swimming pool and a football stadium, part of the sports city that will extend over 74 hectares, the same source added.Upon completion, the city of sports will feature multi-sports halls, stadiums for rugby, basket-ball, volley-ball and bowls, a sports school, athletics tracks, two hotels a sports clinic in addition to a mall exclusively for sports items. The project is the fruit of partnership between the ministries of interior, of youth and sports, of economy and finance, of national education and vocational training, the fund of deposits and management (CDG), the urban commune of Tangiers and private enterprises.Tangiers will also be endowed with four football stadiums and four mini-football stadiums for an investment of 19.5 million dirhams, part of the national human development initiative.MWN with MAPlast_img
