NEW DELHI, India – President George W. Bush said early today that an American diplomat was killed in the bombing outside the U.S. Consulate in Pakistan’s biggest city. At least one bomb exploded outside the consulate and a luxury hotel in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi, killing four people and wounding 49 just days ahead of a visit to Pakistan by Bush. Speaking in New Delhi, Bush said a U.S. foreign service officer was among the dead. He did not elaborate.
