Freehold Area Running Club to host USATF World Cup Race Walk Trials

first_imgThe Freehold Area Running Club will be hosting the 2014 USA National Race Walk World Cup Trials on March 30 at 8:30 a.m.The club was selected by USA Track and Field (USATF) to conduct the trials, which will determine the American World Cup race walking team that will compete at this year’s IAAF World Race Walking Cup in Taicang, China, in May.The competition will be held at the club’s new race walk venue at Harry Wright Lake in the Whiting section of Manchester Township. There will be a 20K race for Senior Men and Women, and a 10K race for Junior Men and Women (19 and under).To be eligible for the World Cup team, a walker must not only place at the March 30 championships, but he or she must meet the minimum time standard established by the IAAF over the previous year.The races will also serve as the USAFTNJ Association’s Men’s and Women’s 20K Championships (all divisions).Ron Salvio is the race director.
