first_img1 Maxime Lopez in action for Marseille Arsenal and Liverpool target Maxime Lopez has ended speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League by signing a new deal at Marseille.The teen star has played 18 times in Ligue 1 so far this season and the quality of his performances attracted interest from the two English clubs.Barcelona were also said to be tracking the 19-year-old closely and a summer approach had been mooted.However, Lopez has snubbed the interest of all three clubs by committing his future to Marseille, where his new contract runs until 2021.The French club’s president Jacques-Henri Eyraud told the official website: “Maxime Lopez’s extension is a strong symbol for all of us.“He is a young, talented player who is very appreciated by the fans, and to whom we want to give a chance to develop into a man at the foundation of our sporting project.“Beyond that, the message we want to send to the young Marseille players is that everything is possible with OM as long as the following conditions are met: exceptional discipline and work ethic, personal talent, and a mentality to put the collective interest ahead of individual interest.”last_img read more
